Born and raised in the Buffalo NY. John served in the United States Marine Corps and was active in Desert Storm in 1991. After his honorable discharge, he found a passion for health care and earned a Master’s Degree in Family and Emergency Medicine as a physician assistant. John’s focus for 18 years has been in emergency medicine and critical care. As much as he loved medicine, he loved teaching medicine even more.
John started teaching for local ambulance companies, then a few colleges. This grew into a him lecturing nationally as a keynote speaker which is where he found his passion of igniting empowerment. He studied the book, How to Win Friends and Influence People, early in his career. This was pivotal to him as a speaker as was the Dale Carnegie Immersion Course. He actively applied the principles to start a business in 2010, called CME4Life, LLC. CME4Life taught medicine via live courses and videos. CME4Life grew over the first three years to make the Inc 5,000 list twice. John then purchased American Medical Seminars, a medical education company in Sarasota, Florida. In 2019, John moved to St. Petersburg, Florida.
John is passionate about combining his love for teaching with empowering talented people with big goals, which sparked his interest in Dale Carnegie. In early 2019, he purchased the territory from Duwayne Keller, who has been a Franchisee for over 23 years. We would like to recognize Duwayne for his long standing relationship with Dale Carnegie and his tenure as a Dale Carnegie Franchisee. We wish him the best in all of his future endeavors and he will always be part of our Dale Carnegie Family.
John will run the business with his CEO Rick Scott and his sister, Lisa Wheeler. John has three amazing kids, Johnny 24, Matthew 18 and his daughter, Sarah, turned 16 on June 4. He is excited and passionate about this opportunity and is looking to blend the time-tested principles of Dale Carnegie with a focus on the health care industry.
Please join us in wishing John all the best in this new endeavor!
